Baseball teams pray for sunny skies
After a season of numerous rain outs, the Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) is hoping its baseball season this year can get more cooperation from the weather.

Baseball Wolfpack divide four games
After a great come from behind victory last week to open the season vs. Aquinas, the Robert F. Hall Wolfpack baseball team played against the Humberview Huskies and Heart Lake Hurricanes on Thursday, May 10.
Junior C Bandits start fast
The Caledon Bandits Junior C. Lacrosse team is off to another season and in the first week of play won two of three games in the west division. They hope to go all the way this season after bowing out to Wilmot Wild in last year’s playoffs. Other centres in the division are Shelburne, Fergus, Halton Hills and Hamilton.
Mitchell Ferris bags Handyman winner
The action was hot as the Inglewood Ball Hockey League hit the floor on May 8 at Lloyd Wilson Memorial Arena in Inglewood. The league with eight teams in the fold now operates once a week.
Montreal gymnastics meet is a resounding success
The competitive gymnasts of Adrenaline Gymnastics Club competed in the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics International Gymnix competition recently in Montreal. The women’s artistic team performs routines on four apparatus: floor, beam, vault and bars. They are judged in categories based on age and level against other gymnasts from all over the world. The minimum age to compete in this International competition is age eight.
Battle for post-season position
While the top spot in the North division of Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) senior boys’ rugby seems set, the battle for remaining playoff positions are very much up for grabs. The Heart Lake Hurricanes kept themselves in contention to earn a post-season berth with a 19-5 win over the North Park Vikings on Monday at North Park. The Hurricanes have a 3-1 record, sharing second spot with the Humberview Huskies and two games remaining.

Bandits destined to medal
Wind, rain, hail or snow the Bandits Field Program gets off to any early start every April. This year the Bandits have entered four teams to participate in the Ontario Minor Field Lacrosse League’s 2012 season, and all teams area are off to a fantastic start.
